Shannon Urbanic
Licensed therapist. Curious listener. Committed to your growth.
Shannon Urbanic earned her master's in counseling from Northwestern University — where she mastered the art of listening, guided processing, and a bit of coffee-fueled studying. She blends CBT, DBT, EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, exposure, and validation to support clients ages 16 and up from all backgrounds, with care, curiosity, and complete acceptance.
Shannon understands how overwhelming and intimidating it can feel to start therapy — especially when struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship issues, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or major life stress. Her trauma-informed, collaborative approach creates a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space for clients seeking meaningful, lasting change.
Whether a client is navigating constant worry, panic, low mood, numbness, or healing from past experiences, Shannon draws on CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and exposure therapy to build coping skills, emotional regulation, and real-world tools — always at a safe, supportive pace.
Shannon entered this field to pay it forward. She believes therapy is for everyone — not just in crisis, but anytime you feel stuck or overwhelmed. Her goal is for every client to feel supported, empowered, and ready to heal.
